1920's hairstyle!!! I HAVE LONG HAIR?

I can't cut my hair! I need a 1920's hairstyle for a show..i have a straightener, curlers, clips, pins, blow dryer, etc. IT MUST BE PULLED BACK

advice is needed! Pictures help a lot also!!!

Although most hairstyles from the 20s were short, with tight curls, I'm sure not everybody chose to cut their hair to be trendy short, just like the way not every woman hopped on to the Jennifer-Aniston-layered-hair bandwagon back in the 90s, or not everyone is doing the long, layered romantic curls of today either. However, given that you only need to do it for a show, here are your options:

1. Tight curl your hair and pin the curls up to make it "look" short, like this:

Here is a great illustration with instructions on how to use "hair decorations" to "tuck" the ends in the back (or twist it into a bun and pinned to the side) and just make sure the front of your hair is "finger curled" and pinned like the 20s:

For the last resort, tie your hair back into a bun, hide it under a 20s style hat and just do the pin curl or finger curl in the front, where some of your hair shows....Like these (just click on each section for enlargement views):

you'd just have to curl your hair really tight. get it cut to your shoulders and curl it. its funny because people with long hair never do anything with it besides ponytails. they just let it hang. the 1920s do would be nice from the same boring hairstyle every girl is rocking straight hair.

okay do like a hairdo that is curly and put pins in the back and make it really big and put hairspray on so it'll stay...and just make it look nice....

One of the biggest trends in the 20's aside from the dresses, was short hair.

Try a bun, worn as low as possible, and long dramatic earrings as shown on this page:
