Iam 60 i wear my hair long,and i have a beard. But 14 year old daughters thinks its cool. But i have been trying to date,and a lot of women. Have held this agianst me,should i get my hair cut,and become clean shaving

I am a 49 yr old gal who LOVES hair on men. The more, the merrier, so to speak. My new hubby can barely get any bush growing, but he does try for me (bless him!), and he grew out his hair long, but it's so curly that it was curled into being short, anyway, so we keep it short now.
My suggestion to you is to sharply trim an outline of your beard so that you look very distinguished. I LOVE Vandyke style (goatee??) that is partially a beard with the yummy mustache combo. If you keep it shortly trimmed, then it makes a man look very - well, distinguished (I have a limited vocabulary today, I guess). As far as the length of your hair, keep it kinda trimmed around your face, but the back can have some length, just so it is full and not scrawny or too curly. A few inches in the back is nice if kept in a pony tail or just nicely laying down. It depends upon the wearer...ask your daughter. Since she likes it on you, she can help you with figuring out what looks as a good length without distracting from your manliness.
Good luck! You're just need to find gals who aren't so into the clean-babyface-smooth look. I LOVE the feel of a man's bristles, and always have. Its what makes a guy a guy, for Pete's sake! That's why I won't cut my long hair...it helps me to feel feminine.

It's probably just that. My 53-year-old (very much married for 23 years) Dad has long hair and a beard. I love my Dad's hair because it's always been that way and because he looks like a wierdo, whereas everyone else I know have very straighta** looking Dads. That being said, at year age, long hair and a beard definitely give that paternal, old man vibe, which women may not be into. It might be hurting you, but if the hair is part of your identity and not a fashion statement, like it is for my Dad, whose had a beard since he was 19, I wouldn't advise changing it for a women. You'll just be miserable

There are some women that like a lot of hair on a man. I am not one of them. My hubby has a mustache and I handle it pretty well but I have always liked my man clean shaven. A lot of women do not like the hair around a mans mouth because it gets in the way of a kiss. It also depends how you keep your beard. Do you cut it and shape it or do you just like to look like a mountain man? Some women like the mountain man type too! The long hair is out though. Yes we used to see guys back in the sixties have long hair and that was our time. But today men your age look much nicer with shorter hair. Women would only think you are trying to go back to the sixties! I am 59 myself and it bothers me to see guys your age with earrings in their ear and long hair. It is a turn off to me. I guess because I think that you should look your age and that you should have come forward in your life and that you are not a kid any more but a man and should look like one.
It sort of depends on what type of woman you are looking for. Any classy gal would not care for your looks, but a biker chick may feel you look wonderful! I personally feel I am between the classy gal and the biker chick type. I like my man to look a little ruff but not too ruff. My hubby grew a beard too and I hated it! Had to live with it though. If you are anything like my hubby he feels that women have to except him for what he is and how he looks. Guess that is the way it should be. If you truly like yourself and the way you look then that is really what is most important isn't it? After all you have to like yourself first before anyone can. If your personality is good then a lot of women will fall in love with you just because of it! Looks are not everything but they do tend to help when you first meet a gal. Long hair on some of the younger men Long hair looks ok, but on an older man it only makes you much older than you really are. Dump the long hair and beard.
